Munson Township Scenic River Retreat Rain Garden Project

Project Goal
Install three rain gardens to manage the runoff from two park pavilions and a parking lot at the Scenic River Retreat and promote their use in Munson Township.

Rain Garden Design Detail
The rain garden for each park pavilion was designed to drain the roof runoff through the gutter and downspout system. The parking lot rain garden was designed to treat and manage the surface runoff from the parking lot. The rain gardens were designed using Geauga Soil and Water Conservation District's Rain Garden Manual for Homeowners

CRWP recommends that members adopt zoning and stormwater management regulations facilitating the use of distributed stormwater practices to minimize the impacts of development.
